MPLS Workshop

A technical workshop for attendees building or operating a wide area TCP/IP based ISP, or metro service providers. Staff from larger ISPs venturing into differentiated services would also benefit.

Who should attend
This is a technical workshop, made up of lectures and hands-on lab work. Open to technical staff who are now or soon will be building or operating a wide area TCP/IP based Internet Service Provider (ISP), or metro service providers. Larger ISPs venturing into differentiated services will benefit.

Requirements:
All participants should bring Laptops.

Pre-requisites:
Good working knowledge of IP Routing in BGP and OSPF/ISIS. Ability to troubleshoot a simple IP network is desired.

Introduction to MPLS – basic functionality and features, L3VPN, TE, L2VPN
Deploying MPLS VPN – L3 design and deployment, VRF, VRF aware features (NAT, FW, IPSEC), remote access to VPN’s, QoS, Enterprise and Campus VPN’s
Traffic Engineering – functionality, tunnel models for bandwidth control and path protection
CEs deployment – How to build a large enterprise network over MPLS cloud
MPLS security – Issues pertaining to MPLS security
L2 VPN’s – Types and functionality for EoMPLS, AToM, VPLS, L2TPV3
Troubleshooting MPLS – LDP, RIB, FIB, MP-BGP for VPN’s, L2VPN.
IPv6 for MPLS: 6PE, 6VPE
